Chocolate Covered Cereal

I remember loving this dessert since I was very little. The original version I used to have was made with amaranth or corn flakes, chocolate, sugar and oil, but in order to make it a healthier version I switched the corn flakes for bran flakes. I also used 70% cocoa chocolate and no sugar or oil.


  • 1 bag of dark chocolate (70% cocoa or more)
  • 2-3 cups of bran flakes or rice puffs


  • 1. In a large pot over a pot of simmering water add the chocolate. Stir until the chocolate is melted about 5 minutes. Remove the bowl from the double boiler and immediately add your cereal. Continue to mix until all the cereal is completely covered with chocolate.
  • 2. Scoop up small mounds of the cereal and place them on prepared baking sheet. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until harden completely.
