Tart Cherry snack balls


I recently heard about the great anti-inflammatory properties of cherries due to the flavonoids they contain, which are the ones that contribute to the ruby red color and distinguished taste.

Besides its powerful anti inflammatory properties, tart cherries are also delicious! Frozen tart cherries are awesome in smoothies, and dry cherries taste great when combining them with nuts, plus this combination packs a satisfying mix of fiber and protein which makes it great as a post work out snack.

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup dried tart cherries
  • ½ cup almonds
  • 2-4 dates
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Directions:

  • Place all ingredients in a food processor and process about 1 minute, or until ingredients are in small, relatively uniform crumbles.
  • Form mixture into balls or bars.
  • Enjoy!
